Since from the early days, children has been considered as GOD.
But what if that child is a girl?
Will the society accept it the same way as it accept the boy?
Why people forget that Sarojini Naidu, Kiran Bedi, Laxmi Bai, Mother Teresa and many other girls who makes India proud! But just think for a second, what will happen when their parents also think the same way and treat their girl child as a burden?
Even after so many years of Independence, do you really think the girl and boy has been treated equally?
Agreed, there are so many changes have brought in India, of course most of them are good, but some of them are bad! There are so many opportunities available for girls today, but do you really think that in every region of world, every girl child find the privilege to go to school.?
At many places, no doubt women have been placed ahead of men, so many laws have been made to support women? But you really think they all have been followed honestly by the people? Does women are getting equal rights ? How many people still follows “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao”?
According to the survey, conducted by the top 10 schools in Jaipur they had found that more than half of the girls haven’t seen the face of school in many slum areas.
Is it because people think they have to give dowry to the girls after marriage? Or because they think that some day they have to do domestic works only? Whatever the reason may be, why did people forget that even the goddess Saraswati, whom they worship is also a girl?
The woman is considered as the backbone of the family, still they didn’t get the equal privilege as that of men. People in India still think that giving birth to the son is most important to forward the name of the clan,, but why people forget that it is the woman only who’ll bring that son into the world?
In this male dominating world, where people worship so many goddess as the mark of good health, wealth and fortune, such as goddess durga, goddess parvati and many more, they discriminate girl child so that they keep stay at home to do only the domestic work.
Nursery schools in Jaipur have reported that girl child who have been admitted by the parents are not allowed to go to the school after fifth standard. Why don’t people understand that if there are destructors, there are protectors too. If goddess kali is the destructor, then she is also the protector as goddess parvati. And in our case, our society is the real destructor, while people who motivate women to get the education is the real protector who protect the country forever.
